Characterized by exceptional sound quality and robust engineering, the ST-118S subwoofer stands as a prime choice for bass reinforcement within main PA systems. It proves itself apt for various applications, including touring, as well as permanent installations in medium-sized venues. Designed to harmonize seamlessly with the ST series full-range loudspeakers, this enclosure is furnished with an optimized, high-excursion Fane 18” driver, boasting a 4” voice coil and a cast frame. Notably, the driver’s advanced motor system design is engineered to minimize power compression, a feature that significantly contributes to maintaining pristine audio quality during operation.
The cabinet design incorporates noise-reducing optimized bass-reflex ports and internal bracing, both of which enhance the acoustic characteristics of the enclosure. As a result, the ST-118S is adept at delivering dynamic and high-output bass response, extending down to an impressive 28 Hz.
Durability is a hallmark of the ST-118S, as evidenced by its construction using 18mm and 24mm exterior-grade, void-free birch plywood. The matt black, sand-based paint finish further fortifies the enclosure against the rigours of the road. Protecting the front of the cabinet is a robust black powder-coated steel grille with a hexagon pattern, bolstered by an acoustic mesh backing.
Designed with practicality in mind, the cabinet features a 35 mm pole mount adapter with an M20 screw fitting, catering to versatile mounting preferences. four flush side handles are provided. The rear of the cabinet is equipped with four quick-release castor plates, facilitating effortless attachment of widely available castors (not supplied). This blend of meticulous design, exceptional components, and user-oriented features solidifies the ST-118S as a reliable and performance-driven subwoofer option.
